Jaisalmer: Best known for its little wooden boxes that are intricately pierced in exciting patterns and motifs. Also woolen and cotton rugs and blankets , embroidered fabrics, silver jewelery and trinkets, available in shops that open off the cobbled streets.

Jodhpur: The same fabrics can still be found in the bazaars, and you may want to try on a sporty pair of Jodhpur. Bad alas or zinc alloy pitcher used to carry water, covered with felted cloth, were an earlier version of today's water flask. Also wooden toys, leather goods, paintings, juttees and silver jewellery, all in the shops in the old city. Handsome pieces of old furniture and artifacts can be found in the huddle of shops at the base of Chhattar Hill.

Shekhawati: linked with the low-legged Shekhawati chair , Shekhawati is known for wood carving, metal utensils, and tie-dye fabrics.

Udaipur: There are also locally dyed fabrics and textiles , embroideries , wooden toys , white metal objects d'art , silver enamel artefacts, and image of Krishna in the Nathdwara style. buy Laque bangles from here that are found in exotic colors.

4) Sunset Points:

Polo is part of Rajasthan history. Rajputs are known as keen equesterian and Horse polo in them is quite famous. Considered one of the elitest sports, polo has always been popular in Rajasthan. Horse polo is taken more serious and is played by professional teams with thoroughbred horses. Camel safari provides more amusement and is unique to Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Golf
The desert is an unusual place for a golf course but as the aristocracy wasm enamored with this sport, golf courses were laid and maintained. Jaipur has ban 18-hole golf course, where you can have a round of golf, in the picturesque surroundings including a palace.

6) Puppets Show
Puppet is synonym to Rajasthan. Most puppets in Rajasthan are string puppets which is the most common type of puppet found in india. They are called kathputlis from kath meaning wood and putli means the doll. Kathputlis wear brightly colored costumes which are fashioned by the puppeteers from scraps of cloth. Ask your tour operator to arrange the puppet show in your resort/ hotel or at the site of your camp fire.

  • Try to visit Rajasthan during October to March as it is relatively cool.
